When your website is protected by the Snicco Fortress module you get some amazing features that help to secure your site. Every once in a while you may want to or have to run some manual actions to keep things going and adjust settings for your specific use case. Here are our top functions that we use the most.

Password Reset

You can reset any user’s password leveraging the right Fortress WP-CLI command.

wp snicco/fortress password reset username

Just swap the “username” with the user’s username within WordPress and it’ll output the new password in the SSH console.

Disable Two-factor Authentication

You can easily disable a user’s 2FA/totp if they lose their device or get themselves locked out.

wp snicco/fortress auth:totp deactivate username

Just swap the “username” with the user’s username within WordPress and it’ll deactivate the currently setup 2FA credentials and when the user goes to login again, they’ll be forced to setup a new 2FA for their account.

More methods

While we covered the most popular functions that our team is using every week, Calvin over at Snicco (the author of Fortress security) has compiled the entire wp-cli available over at the official GitHub repository.
